100th post!

can you believe it??? this is my 100th post! i thought i would use it to show off colin's haircut. he NEVER stops running so this was the best picture i could get :) so handsome!

30 never looked so good! yesterday my husband turned 30!! poor guy had to work all day and hardly got to relax but thanks to a delicious dinner his mom cooked and a remote control plane from me (he might be 30 but he still plays like a kid;), he went to bed a full and happy birthday boy! happy birthday honey, i love you!!!

for breakfast this morning we went to josh's favorite mcdonalds. i know it sounds kind of funny, they are all the same right? nope. this one has a miners motif (again, funny, i know!) there is a dark cave like seating area and a lot of tools/lanterns/tacky stuff on display. josh's favorite part is that instead of stools to sit on, they have saddles! i guess it has been like this since the 70's. josh still loves it and wanted to share it with colin :)

surprise!!

my friend jackie and i threw a surprise birthday party for our hubbys last night. they both turn 30 in september!! after a couple months of little lies we pulled off a great surprise! it took them both a minute to figure out what was going on. they walked into the restaurant thinking that it was a party for the other person! it was a great night! thanks for everyone who came to help us celebrate!

blogging away

a year ago today, i started this blog!! i hope you all have enjoyed it so far. this has been a great way for me to keep track of all of colin's milestones and i have found a website that can make my blog into a little scrap book!



i thought it was time for a colin update since i haven't done one since he turned one!

here are colin's stats from his doctors appointment last month:
length: 31" (50th percentile)
weight: 21lbs 5oz (5-10th percentile)
head circumference (because i know you are all interested :) 45.9cm (10-25th percentile)

overall, he is a very healthy toddler!! he is very lean and active (hence the low weight percentile) and he is developing at the perfect rate!

colin has become quite verbal in the last month. here are a list of his words...

he also does a few trick! colin can:

colin also LOVES a lot of things. he loves:
WATERMELON (he eats it with almost every meal and always opens the fridge and points to it)
books (especially i spy books)
animals, especially giraffes, elephants, dogs and fish
dancing (i have no idea where he gets most of his moves!)
love to help himself to snacks
balloons
running playing outside
swimming
typing on the computer
pretending to talk on the phone
finding nemo
most of all he LOVES playing baseball! he can throw a ball really far and can hit a baseball off a tee better than i can! i am not just saying this because i am his mom but he his AMAZING!!!

a funny little freckle

about a month ago, colin had a little scratch on his right hand. he would show it to everyone (including people at the grocery store, target or anywhere else we went). by the time that scratch was just a little scar, colin had gotten some shots at his 15 month check up and he thought the pain in his arm was from his scratch/scar that you could hardly see. (but he was still showing people his "boo-boo" and would even make a sad pouty face to go with it.) by the time his arm stopped aching, i noticed that colin had a tiny little freckle on that same hand. he STILL thinks it is a boo-boo! when i ask him to see his freckle this is what he does...

eye can see!!

my surgery went great! i still can't believe i can see without contacts or glasses! my eyes are really dry and pretty itchy and i have to put drops in every 5 seconds, but other than that they are good! the funniest part is the eye protector that i have to wear when i sleep. i thought it would look like a sleep mask...i was SO wrong! here is colin modeling it for you all!




what a joke huh!! i look like some sort of professional racquet ball player!!! good thing i only have to wear it for a few more days ;)

saturday i am having lasik eye surgery!! i can't wait. i have been wearing glasses and contacts since i was a freshman in high school (13 years!!). i can't even remember what it is like to wake up in the morning and be able to actually see! i am not very nurvous for the actual procedure, but the care after is pretty intense. i can't wear any eye make-up for two weeks and i have to put like three different drops in my eyes every 30 minutes for two weeks. plus, i have to wear an eye shade when i sleep on so i don't rub my eyes...maybe i can get one of those ones that says DIVA or PRINCESS on it ;)
